Pleasure marathon with The Kid and Marnie |
|
The original Easy Riding Cart was an antique, purchased
in pieces by The Stutzmans at auction over 40 years ago. They
created a pattern from the pieces and began producing this elegant cart.
Even more popular today, the easy riding cart is known for its excellent
balance. --Placing almost no weight on animals back once the passengers
are aboard. This allows the horse or pony perfect freedom to show
off their gates. It is especially prized by dressage and pleasure
drivers.
The double bent short shafts give the animal extra
freedom in the shoulder and make it impossible for the shafts to stab the
horse. Since it is shorter and lighter than full shafts - the cart
is safer for the animal and easier to transport.

Marnie and The Kid,
Dressage at The Georgia International CDE, Advanced Level 1999 |
The secret to why the Buckeye can accommodate such a wide
range of horse sizes has to do with the fact that it has short shafts, and that
you use Tilsbury Tugs to hold the shafts instead of simple loops. The
short shafts end at the saddle, so you have no worries about the different
shoulder depths you will find between horses. The Tilsbury Tugs are
precise and adjustable where loops aren't. This allows you to raise and
lower the shafts by as much as 8 inches without misaligning the cart. The
single tree is nestled under the bow, so your traces will always run parallel to
the shafts, invisibly. Notice the invisible traces in the pictures of both
horse and pony in this cart...
